This Ferrari 166MM/53 Spyder is one of only two cars which were built with a factory in-house designed body. All other Ferrari since the early days until today received their coachwork (body) from independent designers such as Vignale, Pininfarina, Ghia, Zagato etc. The body of only two cars were designed by the factory, this car and it's sister car. The car was entered and raced in the 1953 and 1954 Mille Miglia and has also participated in many other events in the rea. In 1954 the car was used for the FOX Studios movie "The Racers" with Kirk Douglas and was actually also driven by Kirk Douglas. It is a wonderfully restored car with all original, matching number components and eligible for most of the prestigious classic car touring, race and Concours events all over the world. A very rare opportunity to acquire a very special early Ferrari V12 Sportsracing car. A milestone not only in Ferrari history, but also in movie history.
