XJ13 - $395,000.00

In 1966 Jaguar built one of the most beautiful cars as a concept car with the intention to build a small run for competition purposes. Rule changes as well as in-house politics never allowed for this ambitious project to finish its purpose and the only XJ13 everr built is on display at he Jaguar factory Museum in Coventry.
The small English car manufacturer Proteus has built a small edition of eight or nine exact replicas of this exciting automobile.
Our car is the first one of these built. Chassis #001 is an all alloy full monocoque constructed to factory specifications using original factory suppliers. Powered by a correct 30 digi fuel injected 5.3 liter dry sump v-12 mated to a 5-speed ZF transaxle developing 485 hp (October '07 dynamometer) #001 can be propelled to nearly 200 mph depending on gearing. The all aluminum full monocoque structure is 16 gauge (the original is 18 gauge and a four cam). All dimensions and weight as per the original and accurate, including original instrumentation and correct windshield from the factory mold.
The car has current street registration and the performance is mind blowing. It takes a skilled driver and a strong set of hands to master this beast, but the fun you experience when driving this car can only be described as "out of this world". Drive it on the race track or country roads or show it at any car show or Concours d'Elegance, it will always be the center of attention and head turner.
